Our guides are at the heart of every Cycle Kasagi experience. We’re a small team of experienced local and long-term Japan residents who love exploring the quiet roads, mountain villages and countryside around Kasagi, Wazuka and southern Kyoto.

More than simply leading the way, our guides bring the area to life — sharing local stories, introducing the communities we ride through and helping you discover a side of Kyoto that most visitors never get to see.

Momoto (English, Japanese)

Hi I’m Momo, I want to show you the magic of Kasagi, Wazuka, and Yagyu! We’ll wind through deep bamboo forests, lush green tea plantations, hidden shrines and temples, while discovering the long fascinating history of this beautiful region. With me, expect a rural adventure filled with excitement, beauty, tranquility, and unforgettable views

From Montreal, Canada, I have lived in Japan for almost 30 years, the last 20 in near Kasagi where I farm organically. With a genuine love of people, history, Eastern philosophy, nature and life, I love to make the fantastic temples and shrines, and natural beauty of the forests of Japan accessible to all.

I love showing people a unique and less-visited part of Japan. It’s a great opportunity to experience rural Kyoto, following quiet roads through ancient capitals, famous terraced tea fields, sacred mountains and historic samurai enclaves.
